bye bye 2016

There we are, at the last day of 2016, and, I think it is the same procedure as every year.
(waves to Miss Sophie)
At TV a nice concert is playing (Jo Bonamassa),  the radio is on the Top2000,  the house is still in christmas light and today I will bake the traditonal oliebollen (oil dumplings).

The social media are bombarding us with well meant messages,  such like, it's been a year, and I wish you ..... for the next one.
Facebook even decided to put all the Happy new year words in a different colour, and even firework included...
For me that is not 'cool', but a constant memory at how much control there is at our words. A filter at words is easily made, and this shows why it is no surprise when I type in things like 'a photo tripod', that I get weeks long commercial information about them. Unasked, but ... as service'.
Big brother is watching us and people who still wonder about how much 'eyes'  see what we write, they should know by now how it works.  This way countries are able to limit the messages that they do not want to see.  The fact that words relating to hate and nazism are still allowed, proves simply that 'the money behind'  is not really intrested in choosing against it.

Oh well, this blog was supposed to be about the past year. It has been a year!  :-D
A lot of things happened that we should forget quickly.  The sooner we forget it, the more we forget the dark moments, the more place there is for the good things that happened. Can you make a list of good things, say, one for each month? Sounds like a challenge to me, not too easy, but I think I can. I won't do it in this blog, by the way.

When you  have difficulties with it, you  can as well ask your friends, if they remember good moments.  I think we all can find 12 of them, if we want.
The keyword 'if we want'.
If we want, we can stress ourselves, with what to wear, what to buy, in trying to educate people, in feeling annoyed about the bad things,  or.... being amazed about the tiny crisps in the chocolate.  A frosty day that shows a wonderful sunset.  A smile from a stranger.  It is our choice.
When people tell me that 'next year has a bad omen', and come with arguements about it...  Then I can get with that, or I can say, hello, let me think by myself.

2017 has a lot to bring. A few things we do know, but a lot of things are unsure, we just have to wait and let them happen. We can't  control most of them (lucky enough), but we can choose how to cope them. Face them with a smile,  Be open for new.  Or be afraid and scared for the things that are not here yet.
I go to the new year with faith. I am ready to face the challenges.  No one tells it will be easy. But in the end, it will be worth it, as much as 2016.  Have a wonderful new year, you all!

Perfect

Ah, what a word, perfect.

Perfect and perfectionism.  It is a thing a lot of people strive to and it is a thing that almost is impossible to reach.

It is almost anytime possible to make things a tiny bit better. A  meal can use a tiny bit more taste, or colour, a hairdress can be a tiny bit less ĺong.... And when that is settled, there are other things that all the sudden get important.

We all know examples about checkings, in the school, at work, where superiors/teachers tell you that things can be better. Ever saw a perfect handwriting?  Ever saw an office or shop that looks perfect?  Or a person?

What is in our judgement for perfectionism, differs from person to person.  When, like yesterday, someone tells me that that picture used to be perfect, but it is not anymore because it is copied too often...   Then I all the sudden start becoming the bad guy again.   Perfect?  Do you mean your photo was perfect?
The colours are strange, the picture is askew,  blurred and ....

No no no, don't tell me that your work is perfect.  Let me judge that, before you tell me that it is. :)

Be happy with what you do, be happy with your work.  Be amazed, when things fit exactly as you wish.  Be proud at it. Show it.  But do not tell others how good you are. Because the others will find that out by themselves.

That's the end of my blog today. Maybe it is not perfect. But I think the photo is :)

White punks on dope

What the entire world already knew for a long time, now is officially stated by the Russian anti doping council'  Russian sporters are systematically doped as for the winter games in Russia, a few years ago.

Quickly was added that the government (also Putin) did not know about it, what fits with the words that Putin always said, that there is not such a thing as systematic doping.

Putin, the man that knows everything, should not be aware of this.
Do you believe it?
Do you believe that he knew nothing from the shameless force that Russia had in the shameful elections in America?

Appearantly it doesn't matter if he knows or not.
Russia is just doing the things that they want to do and no one is  stopping them.  More examples?  Syria, Ukraine.
Still doubts?  Ask the opposition newspapers and politicians.

There is no reason to doubt about where the wordl power is. How long will 'the rest of the world'  be able to deny that?  Or is it better to pretend of not seeing it, because as soon as you see it it is a problem?

Just like telling that there is no doping industry?

Good that the sun is not shining. Our Kitchen is not that dusty at all ....

Edoted!
A few hours later, the Russian 'anti doping office'  added a statement that the words as appeared in the New York times are false interpreteted.  There is no 'mass dope fraud',  the western media interpeted the information false.

Out of the spotlight

I copy (and paste..)  here below something about the unseen side of George Michael.

I don't want to say much about it.  Again it is so that people, often, have no idea about the real person, behind the masquerade.

Let us learn the lesson, that evey person has a story, that we not know. Do not judge people, because you might have no idea what is behind.
Judge at deeds, not at prejudges

Only the good ....

What a news that was, yesterday, short before going to sleep.  The death of George Michael came hard upon us all.
I must admit, I am not the biggest fan of him and his music, but, now I am listening to his songs and we all know his songs that we carry with us for life. Last Christmas, Careles Whisper, Don't let the sun go down.. The endless list and, for me, the highlight at the Freddie Mercury Memorial.

Talking about 'only the good die young'...

It's been a year, in what a lot of celebreties, and a lot of pop stars passed away.
In fact it started at December 28th 2015, with the death of Lemmy, then Bowie, Prince, Cohen, well, I forget the most for the ease.  And now George Michael, when is it finally ending?

Or is it the fact that we, our generation, gets older as well, that the chance that we are next to be picked up?
Questions where we can philosoph about, but what will give no answers.  Why are people like Keith Richards and Ozzy Osbourne, who lived extreme,  still on earth? Why are horrible people like Trump and Putin, who nobody needs, still among us?

And again, again again (oh... Status Quo's Rick Parfit... RIP),  I realize that we never can say when we breath oru last breath. It is useless to think that there is a tomorrow, tomorrow will never be there, and today is the only day that matters.  Easier said then done, but I strongly believe that that is what we can learn from all the sad news.  Live today, Carpe Diem baby!

The stages in heaven get filled with our stars. I think I don't mind to go to see their heavenly concerts.

Under the christmas tree

And so it is Christmas day

People wishing for peace, and secretly, a bit more, that their christmas dinner succeeds.
You might think that the cooking is the hardest part, but that definitely is not always the thing.

The most thrilling adventure of  a goose is the departure of the frozen goose down the stairs, and we ourselves, had some difficulties with our Duck, what appearantly was a bit bigger as planned.. Double as heavy, to be precise..  What the .......
Good, the duck was there, and then the big question was, how do we get this monster ready for dinner, while our cooker turned out to be pretty narrow for such a giant.

As often, when a man is desperate, the solution came from women :)  My girl said, why not ask... :) And I asked and then could get two frying pans.  Only needed one,  and I must say that all are pretty happy with it. The duck turned out to be wonderful of taste and all, and the fryer (I still wonder why google keeps on translating 'brater'  in bureau desk?) is perfect.

Thing turned out to be nice and very good tasting, so... that was Christmas Eve saved, and of course Christmas Day as well, and who knows how much longer... :)

As a good Social Media addict I posted my 'duck'  at facebook, got some nice reactions and my day was happy and fine.

Further, I do not care too much about all the christmas traditions, but it is nice when something succeeds, sure after a few hours of taking care of it.
Further, I do not care too much about presents, because we have in fact all we need, and what we want to have, we can buy it (or not) at the moment we like. We not need to wait for christmas.

But, having said that, I was happy that I found two Queen books in the window of the bookshop in town. Books that were not yet in our collection. And now they are.
Santa gave it to both of us. And, considering one can never have enough of Queen....We are happy bunnies today. The Duck however, might feel different.

the most wonderful days of the year

I heard it a few times, today, it's the most wonderful time of the year.  Well, that might be so, but I think it is not a secret that I don't mind when the festivities are over. Yes, I call it festivities, lucky no one is reading this, so no one will get offended :-)

There are people in the shops who I do not see there at any other day of the year,  the carts are too small and people are a bit nervous about what they forget to buy, the national traditional folklore.

People are having free days, all the sudden they pop up at the social medea, tellng how horrible the tv programs are. Hello people, wake up!!! They are so horrible EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR!
:-)

I love the lights in the house, the gentle colours, fading the dark days away,  all is settled and here for a few nice and calm days together at home.

Christmas can come. And I look forward to all the pictures of over filled tables with food. While, like usual, the things will turn out well for the most of us. In the worst case the kitchen needs a fresh painting after  christmas.

Christmas presents? Ah, all I want for christmas.... is you (well, I mean S.  of course!) lol.

Happy Christmas everybody, war is over.. if we want it!

Christmas Chaos

Sometimes the days get different then you think before.

Expected meetings, unexpected meetings, nice words..

More coffee then expected. Drunk, and bought, we need to survive the holidays, don't we?

And that while, somewhere, a tiiny bit of shadow tries to show up.
But, there is no chance for hate, or anger.
The light of love and cheer makes the darkness disappear.

Do you know that feeling, when you walk in a crowded street (or shop), and the one who is approaching you is doing a dance with you, while you both step aside in the same direction, in an attempt to make the path free for eachother?
And then, when I smile helpless, the smile returns at the others face?
And then you come home and you realize that you forgot to buy something, but you still remeber that smile?

it is all around

I still have problems how to react on people that post hate messages.

Not looking at it, ignoring it, will not work, because I see it and then I NEED to do something. I can not let it go. Should I ban those people out of my life, or should I keep them in, with the risk that sooner or later such an accident happens again?

My most safe behavior is to ask them why they say such, why they do so.
But, do I need to discuss and hear all that 'dirt'  again?  It are never new words, all is said in fact.
Just like my reaction, is the same as well, in fact.

Hate and revenche is not a solution. Never.  The answer is love (and understanding).

I won't shut up.  I will not search for those people or consider them as friends. And when they start their dirty talk, I will reply.  I need to practise more, in concentating on the why..
It is more easy with the love. That is all around, for who wants to see.

Je suis Berlin

The world is under attack

I told that before, and we all know about it.  Aleppo is under attack by Russia and Assad, the USA is under attack of Trump, Tibet is under attack from China.  It looks very very bad in the world.

And it all comes nearer by when we are shocked again with a tragic attack, like yesterday at the christmas market in Berlin, where at least 12 people are killed by a truck.

What a world!

That is a natural and first reaction. It also has to do with the media, that tell all the sudden nothing else then about the attack(s). The social media, where everyone posts the news, and has an opinion about it. Kill them all!

Every victim is one too much, so somehow it has to stop. Who knows me a bit, knows that I am fully convinced that the only answer is LOVE, and peace in our hearts. We should not lower ourselves at the level of the ones who want us to hate, to be scared. Who loves, always wins.

This kind of attacks tells us again how fragile we are, and how important it is to live.  Live now, live good.
And don't be afraid.  The chance to get killed in a traffic accident is still very much higher, then being the victim of terrorism.  Strange, in fact, that no one cares too much about that kind of losts too much.  What should happen if we hear in the news, on a daily base, how many people died in car accidents, or from hunger, or from living at the street?
Maybe it is good that we not know that all. We should be stucked to our tv's 24 hours, the bags of potato chips to eat should increase much more.
And the world still should still be not better.

Let's get out. Let's show what we want.  Love is all around, we just need to show it!
