Just a colourful Friday.

It is a signal of the time, and maybe it is a signal of all times, but I have the idea that it nowadays is stronger then years ago.

The influence of trends and festiivities from other countries is getting bigger. It is natural, globalisation works, integration as well, so we in the western world do not look surprised anymore with celebrations of other cultures and religions. What is a good thing, we can learn from that that, basically, the differences between religions and cultures are not as big as that certain groups want us to believe.

It is very intresting to know the backgrounds of certain things, like Halloween and Thanksgiving, it gives a view that goes further then just a celebration and a day of tric and turkey.
Other phenonemas are less easy to explain

Today it is in America Black Friday. The day after thanksgiving is long time taken by the commercial institutes, it is an extra day off for many, and that means that the people need to be entertained and the best thing to do such is to let them shop.
Black Friday is called black because of the traditional rush at the sales in the shops. It is of course a circle, more people do so, more sales, and so on.
So, there is a group of americans that is not spending Thanksgiving with being grateful and meeting beloved ones, but they take the sleeping bags and install themselves before the malls to be the first ones who are getting in.

Now you should say, that we, here, far away, in Europe, has not much to do with it, but... wrong of course. First of all you just have to look at your games or websites at the internet, everywhere all the sudden great sales are showing up. As if I all the sudden, today, need to buy something cheap?
Apart from that, more and more companies are introducing the black friday into our good old world, sales and all are coming up fast.

I was early in the big city this morning  and we saw a group of people, standing waiting outside the shop to get open. A strange thing, still, in our cities, but we did put the proper connection to it (I think).  Anyway, I went to the bakery, where was as well a queue. But.. that is because it is a good bakery, half of the city is buying their bread there.

When walking back, the shops were open and I thought, I peek into the shop that had that fantastic (do you feel the sarcasm here? If not then now, I hope!) row of people waiting in the cold, to see what did happen to them

I did one step in the (open) door of the shop and all the sudden I was rammed from behind by a guy who appearantly had slept too long (or too short?) and was afraid missing his sale.  In a reflex I did put out my foot (go go gadget foot)  and all the sudden the guy was flat in the shop.  At that moment I was walking outside already, and bought myself a cup of coffee in the shop at the other side, among the audience that just did experience this performance.

The coffee was delicious. It is great when no one matters about what you just did :-)

Don't overdo

I wanted to place a screen, with the reason of this blog, but I won't do it.

The person involved is pretty sensitive, and I don't need to upset people more then they upset themselves. Whoa, wise words, let me quickly forget them, elsewise I have not much to blog in the future anymore :-)

This morning someone wrote about a terrible accident that did happen to his friend.  And later this person did write a comment, that we should not whine and complain about all those small matters what in fact hardly matter.

Of course that is true.  But it made my eyebrowse rising from themselves, to see this coming from a person, who, in the past months, turned out to be a big whiner himself, anyway at the social media, in what he now is telling that we should not be.

I understand him, I wish his friend well, and I feel sorry, I realy do. But still, it is a bit strange to see these lines coming from a person that is one of the people that i doing the thngs that he now asks 'us' to do not.
I do them as well, and many others do. It seems to be normal, nowadays, to express your feelings and emotions at the inteernet, rather then at home.

I dd leave the stage of educating others in this, to tell them that they should not, because I do it myself as well.  Okay, true, less then before, but, been there and will be there again, I guess :-)

So, before I leave and get some fresh cold air again, I wonder, why someone writes 'don't matter about small things, there are bigger things',  while he will be doing exactly that soon again.
The answer could be varios, and I have to think about them.
Not for this particular case, but in general. Again, I don't attack anyone, I am not better then you, I am the same..

Is someone tellig us 'what to do' and 'what not'  to get a kind of attention that he normalle not gets?

Is someone tellig us 'don't whine about small thngs, think at the essentials', while she forgets to look into the mirror that moment?

Is someone trying to put in fake emotions with it?  Like, see how much I care, all the sudden the small things don't matter anymore.
And the question next to this is, how long will this 'eye opener'  work?

Are it fake emotions, to get others people intrest?

That last question I don't need to answer anymore. This miserable blog tells the answer :)

Infiltration - stand for your rights

Here is a video, that my Israelean friend sent me.

It is set up, that is clear, because this kind of propaganda, especially for ISIS (the present biggest terror threat in the middle east) is forbidden by law, but still, it is typical and I think that a lot of people relate to this.

Please copy and paste the in your facebook, sorry, I don't know how I alternatively can show this to you.

https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152510161402689

What is happening in this movie is dat no one complains about the ISIS flag and propaganda message and that people go into discussion when the Israelic Flag is waved and Hamaz is labeled as terrorism

I love to share this video, I just did share it, at Facebook, and I wonder if there is any more then one (and that is my israelean friend) that will react.
I can share this at twitter as well. I am sure that there will be some hate response on this, considering the people of anon that are following me and that place message bombs about what the bad bad israelean army is doing to the poor and innocent Palestenean.

Unfortunately, in my opinion, that is always how it works.
When the (brute) forces are coming in the field, the army, there is no mercy and there is no pitty.
The people who become victim are always the people who are the most easy to hit and hurt.
That are not the people who preach hate and who kill on purpose.
It are people that just want to live in peace, with their family. Or the people that pray for peace, in a church.

There should be no place in this world for terrorism. No tolerance for that!

Surprises of the day

I love my photography. It never is boring, and even when I am a bit limited in the places to go, it is always a challenge to find something new, a new point of view, a new subject, whatever. I keep on learning to look 'free', and part of it is as well joining challenges.

At this moment it is a hype to join 'black and white' challenges, that is putting 5 days in a row a black and white picture, and encourage others to do the same. I am in the middle of the 4th one, and I don't mind it, it is just nice to try out and to look different.

But, who knows me a bit, they will also know that I am not a person what always wants to join the mass, I like to do things my way. I came up with the (not original, okay...) idea to make a picture of the same 'motive', for a year. Every week I go to the park, and I make a picture of the same spot.

I have a bank there, and when I sit in the middle of it, I can photograph the pond and the walkover behind it. Today I went there for the 3rd time (also 3 weeks in a row now), and I made my picture.

It was a bit grey, but dry, and I did hear the birds whistling in the trees around me. So, after that my challenge was done, I did look around and I did spot a little robin.  I did change the lenses, and little Robin was singing on, I got the time to walk to him (or her?) and make a few pictures.

How cool is that? A kind of reward for being there? I dont know, it was a happy surprise. Photographing is never boring, and this little robin can fly ofter in front of the camera. The advantages of winter, not many places (leaves) to hide, also challenges more over for us, photographers!

Time to get serious

I think it is time to give this blog a serious new chance

I still shall not do much promotion, but I think that I shall try, from now on, to do a bit more postings in 'me' style, as in, what I am doing, and what I am thinking.

I saw some very nice blogs as well with paintings and pictures, and considering the mass of pictures I make (what to do with it?) it seems like an idea to show them here as well, next to the other places.
And why should my poetry be unseen, or only by the ones who know their way to the 'Poetry in Emotion'  site?

Okay, as from next blog on you will see of this good intention becomes real :-)

Jets, bubbles, and bursts of light in Taurus

Jets, bubbles, and bursts of light in Taurus

The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope has snapped a striking view of a multiple star system called XZ Tauri, its neighbour HL Tauri, and several nearby young stellar objects. XZ Tauri is blowing a hot bubble of gas into the surrounding space, which is filled with bright and beautiful clumps that are emitting strong winds and jets. These objects illuminate the region, creating a truly dramatic scene.
This dark and ominous landscape is located some 450 light-years away in the constellation of Taurus (The Bull). It lies in the north-eastern part of a large, dark cloud known as LDN 1551.
Just to the left of centre in this image, embedded within a rust-coloured cloud, lies XZ Tauri. While it appears to be a single star, this bright spot actually consists of several stars. It has long been known to be a binary, but one of these two stars is thought also to be a binary, making a total of three stars within a single system.
This is not the first time that Hubble has observed XZ Tauri — between the years of 1995 and 2000, a hot bubble of gas was spotted expanding outwards from the system. This bubble can be seen as the small orange lobe very close to the top left of XZ Tauri. This gas is speeding out from the star system, leaving a trail spanning tens of billions of kilometres. As the bubble travels it hits slower moving material, triggering pulses of light and rippling shockwaves.
Above and to the right of XZ Tauri, an equally epic scene is unfolding. Wisps of deep red seem to be streaking away from the blue-tinged clumps on the right. This bright blue patch contains a star known as HL Tauri [1], which is associated with Herbig-Haro object HH 150. Herbig-Haro objects are streaks of hot gas blasted into space by newborn and newly forming stars and LDN 1551 is particularly rich in these dramatic objects.
In the bottom right of this Hubble image is another Herbig-Haro object known as HH 30 (opo9905), associated with the variable star V1213 Tauri. The star itself is hidden within a flat, bright disc of dust that is split in half by a dark lane. This dust blocks direct light from V1213 Tauri, but the star is visible via its reflected light and the prominent, knotty jets it is blasting out into space.
Hubble previously viewed HH 30, alongside XZ Tauri, with its Wide Field Planetary Camera 2 between the years of 1995 and 2000. The observations were used to image and study the changes in disc brightness and jet strength over the five-year period. V1213 Tauri’s strong magnetic field forms the jets by funnelling and shepherding gas from the disc, accelerating it along the star’s magnetic poles to form two narrow beams.
A version of this image was entered into the Hubble’s Hidden Treasures image processing competition by contestant Judy Schmidt, and won third prize.
In a press release issued by the European Southern Observatory today observations from the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) reveal extraordinarily fine and never-before-seen detail in the planet-forming disc around HL Tauri. The new observations are an enormous step forward in the observation of how protoplanetary discs develop and how planets form.

Notes

[1] XZ Tauri and HL Tauri are textbook examples of a class of stars known as T Tauris — young and rapidly rotating, with strong magnetic fields and powerful winds. They have yet to reach the temperatures necessary for hydrogen fusion deep in their cores. It will take around 100 million years for these stars to trigger these reactions and evolve into fully-fledged stars like the Sun.

COCA-COLA INVITES THE WORLD TO “SHARE THE SOUND OF AN AIDS FREE GENERATION” AND SUPPORT (RED)

And the video to support this (a better world) is not available in Germany.
Strange, author rights are more important then a good purpose?

And since when does Coca Cola Inc care for the world?

Just like the song, it is a cheap copy, just to make with as little money as possible as much commercial profit.

COCA-COLA INVITES THE WORLD TO
“SHARE THE SOUND OF AN AIDS FREE GENERATION”
AND SUPPORT (RED)
Campaign features new music from OneRepublic, Aloe Blacc, a special collaboration with Wyclef Jean & Avicii, and a previously unreleased song from Queen featuring Freddie Mercury

(Embargo until 13.00, London, Nov. 3, 2014) – The Coca-Cola Company, in partnership with (RED) <http://www.red.org> , invites Brits to join a global movement to help end mother-to-child transmission of HIV with the launch of a new campaign, titled “SHARE THE SOUND OF AN AIDS FREE GENERATION”. The campaign will feature an array of top artists as they debut new music, and offer exclusive experiences encouraging people to come together to share, and most importantly—to give. Funds raised from the campaign will go directly to The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria to finance grants which provide HIV prevention, testing, counseling, treatment, and care services.
The month-long global programme which runs through to World AIDS Day on December 1st, 2014, shares a message of hope and unity to empower today’s youth to understand they can be the generation to end the AIDS crisis. 650 babies are born every day with HIV, yet life-saving medication exists and costs as little as $.40 a day (25p). That same medication can reduce the risk of an HIV-positive woman passing on the virus to her baby by 95%. In 2013, for the first time since the discovery of the virus, more people were newly added to treatment than were newly infected with HIV, a critical milestone in reaching the beginning of the end of AIDS.
“One of the primary goals behind the movement of this campaign is to use the power of music to rally the millennial generation in realising that an AIDS free world is within reach,” said Emmanuel Seuge, Vice President, Global Alliances & Ventures, The Coca-Cola Company. “We are grateful to all of the artists who are joining us in this remarkable effort.”
New Music
The campaign kicks off with the debut of Queen’s “Let Me in Your Heart Again,” a previously unreleased song, mixed by William Orbit exclusively for the (Coca-Cola) RED campaign. The song features the iconic vocals of the late Freddie Mercury, who passed from AIDS in 1991. Each week, a new artist will unveil an original song which will be available to download on iTunes with proceeds benefitting the Global Fund atwww.iTunes.com/REDSound <http://www.itunes.com/REDSound> . The tracks include:
· “Let Me in Your Heart Again” (William Orbit Mix) by Queen featuring Freddie Mercury (Week of November 3)
· “Together” by Aloe Blacc (Week of November 10)
· “Divine Sorrow” by Wyclef Jean featuring Avicii (Week of November 17)
· “I Lived” (Exclusive Remix of Original Single) by OneRepublic (Week of November 24)
“It’s been 23 years since the world lost our beloved Freddie Mercury,” said Queen guitarist Brian May. “We’ve made extraordinary progress in the fight against AIDS in that time. But we cannot simply rest on the fact that the treatment is available. We must ensure that it is provided. Roger and I are proud to lend this rediscovered song to the (Coca-Cola) RED campaign, in the hope that Freddie’s powerful voice can inspire the world yet again.”
Unique Experiences
Coca-Cola and (RED) have partnered with OMAZE, a leading fundraising platform that specialises in offering once-in-a-lifetime experiences that require fans make a donation to secure a chance of winning. By visitingomaze.com/CokeRed, fans in GB will be able to take part in this global initiative and donate to be in with the opportunity to win incredible experiences, including:

The Coca-Cola Company is dedicated to the fight to end HIV/AIDS. Since 2006, The Coca-Cola Company and its foundations have committed over $15 million in the fight to end AIDS through awareness, education and prevention. In 2011, The Coca-Cola Company initially pledged $5 million to the Global Fund through partnership with (RED) and has recently raised its commitment by an additional $2 million donation directly to the Global Fund. This year, Coca-Cola will leverage the size and scale of the system to rally for the cause, ultimately activating this campaign in over 40 countries worldwide including Great Britain.
"Incredible things have happened in the fight against AIDS, bringing the pandemic to a tipping point. There is much to celebrate, but we must also renew our vow to wrestle this virus to the point it becomes part of our history not our present, said Bono, (RED) co-founder. (RED) partners like Coca-Cola are on (RED) alert this World AIDS Day to keep the pressure up, with the help of longtime AIDS activists Queen, and musicians Avicii, Deadmau5, Wyclef Jean, Aloe Blacc and OneRepublic. Music fans have been a real army in the fight against AIDS, we hope this campaign will swell the ranks.”
