Dear Hans,
Tibetans and friends of Tibet were heard throughout the
halls of Congress during Tibet Lobby Day 2015 – many thanks to those of
you who participated either online or in person.
Because of your action we were able to raise the voices of
Tibetan-Americans and friends of Tibet from 49 states as well as
Washington D.C & Puerto Rico. I know the people who participated in
person felt energized knowing that they were joined by others raising
their voices virtually from around the country.
I hope you will take a few moments to view some of the highlights from Lobby Day here in Washington.
Together, we asked Congress to continue funding for Tibet
programs in the annual appropriations bill, pass the Global Human Rights
Accountability Act, pass the Reciprocal Access to Tibet Act and write
to Secretary Kerry to ask for the release of political prisoners Khenpo
Khartse and Tenzin Delek Rinpoche. We will keep you updated as we
follow up on these requests throughout the coming months.
Again, thank you for helping amplify Tibetan voices and
encouraging US government leaders to take action on behalf of Tibet!
Sincerely,
Bhuchung Tsering
Vice President
