RenewDear Hans,

You know the truth about Tibet and the suffering inflicted on Tibetans by the Chinese government’s relentless oppression. I believe that knowledge, along with your commitment to the ideals of freedom and fairness, is why you first stepped up to join the International Campaign for Tibet.

Now that it’s time to renew your ICT membership for 2015, I urge you to take a moment to do so now.

Too many people think of Tibet as Shangri-La – a Himalayan paradise where everyone lives in peace and harmony. Nothing could be farther from the truth!

As you know, the Tibetan people live under constant risk of arrest for exercising religious freedom or freedom of expression. They can’t travel within Tibet without permission from Chinese Communist Party officials. They can be imprisoned for simply displaying a photo of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and tortured while in custody.

You help make the truth about Tibet known worldwide through your support of ICT. Your 2015 membership renewal gift will help give Tibetans hope for an end to their suffering and the start of a brighter, peaceful future.

Please keep in mind that all of ICT’s work – documenting and reporting the realities of life in Tibet, advocating on behalf of Tibetans around the globe, and focusing international pressure on China’s leaders – is made possible by members like you.

In a perfect world, Tibetans would be living in peace and you could stand down. But because our world is far from perfect, and Tibet is not Shangri-La, I ask you to please stand up for the people of Tibet again today.

Matteo Mecacci Thank you,
Matteo Mecacci
