PAIN THAT SPEAKS
I Corinthians 12:25-26 "...so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it."
Pain is something we do not like. Pain starts when something is not right with the Body. Pain tells us that we need to take care of what is wrong. Pain becomes a warning mechanism to remind us that we need to slow down and take care of the warning signal that something is wrong with the body. Pain normally is centralized in one part of the body but eventually it spreads throughout the whole body. It comes to the point that the whole body is now focused on the pain and there is a great awareness that there is something wrong. For example, today my knee is hurting, but the hurt does not stop with the knee; the pain has now slowly moved to my back and then to my arms and my feet so that my whole body is well aware that there is something wrong with my knee.
In many ways the troubles of life are like a pain in your spirit and your soul. What starts as a small thing in life slowly spreads and before you know it, it feels like you can do nothing because spiritually, the problem has possessed the whole body. When a person rebels against an organization or group, his rebellious spirit is like a pain that distracts the whole and brings sorrow to all. God the Creator spoke about pain. He reminds us that no one suffers alone. Paul made this clear when he wrote, "If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it." Listen to the pains of life and do something about it before it spreads to the point where it is hurting others. Listen to pain and take care of it before it destroys.
