Update: July 6 2010: Paul Has Made His Prediction and He Has Chosen Spain to Beat Germany After All

Previous Story:

Reports Were Circulating Sunday Night That Paul the Oracle Octopus in Germany Had Picked Spain to Beat Germany in the World Cup Semi-Finals

However, it now turns out that these reports were fake and Paul has made no such prediction (he is apparently going to make his prediction on Tuesday).

Paul the Oracle Octopus has correctly predicted all of Germany's results in the 2010 World Cup so far from his tank at the Sea Life Aquarium in Oberhausen Germany, but the difference with this prediction was that no video footage was available (as it was with his other predictions).

So this sparked some suspicion on the part of German fans who went looking for more evidence. Even after still photos of Paul picking Spain appeared on the Internet, some were not convinced. Turns out they were right to be skeptical.

If you compare this photo of Paul's latest pick with his picking of Serbia over Germany (the only time he has picked against Germany), you can see that they are the same picture.

Some enterprising Spanish fans have taken to photoshop, and tried to put words in Paul's beak. Paul's not going to stand for this.
