Friends

Friends, I wrote it many times already, is a word that lost its realy meaning through facebook.  I mean, I can imagine some people have more friends then I but when you have over 1000 Friends, I doubt if it all are realy friends.

Same goes for the connected word 'likes'  The more likes, the more confirmation that what you are doing is well. Well, I can imagine people like what pthers do more then what I do, but when there are over 100 likes on a post I start wondering why.

Some people need those confirmation, and I think I know why.
When this kind of confirmation is missing in real life, it looks cool to see that you are digital popular. It covers an insecure life in reality, it misleads people.
Ask why people put a like on a post. Often it is just for knowing that we have read the post, rather then that we agree with it.
But those poor insecure people like to fool theirselves and unconditionally measure their popularity on it.

Let's call ths person Frank.  Frank is small, insecure, and makes a mess of his own life.  On line he has hundreds of friends, and he love to show himself in pictures with his friends, with his girl, and so more.
Frank i friends with someone who even gets more likes at his posts. Frank can not stand it, but he is friends and decides to copy the behavior of his friend. He also tells everyone that his friend is his best friend.  No one can confirm it, especially not while that friend (let's call him Jos) is never telling that he is Franks best friend.
Frank fights his way and intrudes even the private life of Jos.  That must be photographed and put on line and Ffrank is counting the likes. The most important thing of his action, and when he has more likes then the 20 usual, his mission has succeeded.
Frank was shortly friends with me.  I did unfriend him, because I had nothing to do with Frank: I dont like his music, I dont like his tttitude, so he has nothing for what I should keep him in my friends list. Same goees for Edwin, this two are really two sismilar persons when it comes to bad attitude.

I am friends with Jos. I  was there, several times, when he needed me and the other way around.
Jos and his wife did invite us for dinner. His wife did put some pictures on line, telling, we go to have silvester dnner with good friends.
Frank right away contacted Jos, to find out who those friends were. He did not like it when he found out who.
So, when his best friend has a great evening, he dislikes it when it is not with him bu with other friennds.

It is that this frank is  cowrd, else I think that Jos and I should hve realy  a problem with this aweful person. I wait until he makes more mistakes, annd will loose his friendship with Jos.  Jos is a wonderful person, he deserves better persons at his side then this small jealous baby

The Amen word

Facebook addicteds will recognize the countless photographs, for some reason often called memes, with the text on it, or added to it,

Can I get an Amen?

Often next to it is asked for a great number of likes and shares.

It gets irritating to see that all the time again, but maybe it is only because I don't understand it.

Long ago, in the church, The Amen word was used at the end of a prayer,  collective symbol, something like that. Translated as, we agree with his words.

Nowadays, certain groups have discovered that they can use Facebook for their purposes.
Racistc organisations like Britain first do the same. Like us, share, if you agree.

Sometimes the words written make sense. Mostly they are only partially what I think, also I can not agree with just one word, one click.
I DON'T let myself be forced to agree with things that I am not fully agree with.

These Amen-pictures force people to agree with some words, mostly taken out of a larger essay.
Later, the shares and likes can be used for all kind of purposes.
Hey, this word did get a million likes, now let's act.

Do you know exactly who is behind those words? Whose ideas you Amen to?

I don't. I want to know first who is telling things. And discuss, when needed.

An Amen is not a thing to throw around like sprouts.
Such as being friends on facebook, not means that you are friends.
Or that a like at Facebook means that you like what is posted.

Say Amen, if you agree
😉

No words

No words can describe
How I feel today
And it happens
Every year again

No words can describe
The disbeleave
Because they say
Legends never die

November 24th,
The day that we lost you
To this horrible disease

You did not want us to feel sad
The show must go on, easily said
But I can't help

The tears that now drop from my cheek

I promise you
Tomorrow I will laugh again
I so much miss you
I so much love you

Forever

LOL

It is funny how people show theirselves, their narrow minds and what all.

Today the automatic robots from 'viewbug'  did spam my Facebook newslin again, with  that my picture has reiceived peers and likes.

As I was not home, this message did get its own life, a few people like it and there is one person what did give it a photo comment with Bäh.   It was not in the timeline anymore, but I found it in the mail.
Since December past year, when I spilled wine over her, she seems to have pleasure in bullying me.  Now that is not working, because I pretend to not see it, to not hear it and to not have it. I always am very nice to her, the word slime is approperiate in this.

So, having seen that comment, made me smile. Appearantly she can do better. Well, maybe that is true, it is a matter of taste what you photograph and where you publish it.
Next week we start with our photo sales. I look forward to it. And I also look forward to this person  to visit our stand. I am 100 per cent sure she will be there, and I know already the reactions that she might give.  I don't give a SHIT about it, I am prepared and I guess that that is more then she.

Never underestimate your enemy. Well, she's not my enemy. Maybe I am her enemy, but the other way around is not working. Why?  Because I don't want to spill time at jealous people :)

A little bit of promotion

I am not good in promoting myself. My former chief told me already so: Hans, you are good, but when you want others to see it you need to show it better.

I think that his well meant advice is a thing that will stay with me for a lifetime and that I will never be able to sell myself properly.  And that whilst I am living with a sales manager, who is very good in this kind of things.  Hmmm..  I am hopeless.

After the photowalk from past Saturday (what was an awesome one, the park was filled with golden trees, the light was perfect and so are the pictures), I was so excited about my photo's that I want the entire world to see them.
Now that is not even possible with the best promotion, but... I was so brave and did promote my photo site at facebook a bit.

The site, DreamsUnlimited, exists about 5 years and only did grow in the past year from over 100 until 223 today.  Past week it was 200, also in one week 10 percent more 'likes', I am excited, and I know pretty well how it comes. Not only by my pictures, but as well with telling the people about it, in groups, on other sites. And still, I am very polite in asking people to 'like'  the page.

But I am a tiny bit exited, to see that it works. My 'slogan'  is, if you like my photo's, why then not make it easy, and 'like'  my facebook photo site, so that you are informed all the time about what is happening?

Okay, that does mean that I need to update the site regurarily. It is a matter of getting used to it. And of course I use Facebook as a backup for my photography. It will not come so far that the photo's at facebook are more important then the ones at HaFri Photography. There is where all my work is collected.  But I am not sure how I want to promote that. If ever. :)

We’re one signature away

The Prime Minister of Peru has a bill on his desk that would turn one of the most precious corners of the Amazon into a National Park -- he just needs to sign it. Every hour he doesn’t sign it, this treasured piece of land is being destroyed. Join the urgent call to save the Sierra del Divisor:

SIGN NOW

Dear friends,

A beautiful, far-flung piece of the Amazonian rainforest is under threat — vast swathes of untouched land home to jaguars, cougars and a vast range of flora and fauna are at risk of being destroyed by illegal coca growers and loggers. But with a stroke of his pen, the Peruvian Prime Minister could turn it into a National Park and save it.
The bill to protect the forest is on his desk and PM Cateriano is considering signing it right now -- but every hour he doesn’t, this treasure is being destroyed. If he takes a stand against this illegal destruction, his leadership could inspire others to protect the planet and his example will echo down generations. But it’s up to us to make sure he knows that.Activists in Peru say if Cateriano knows the whole world is supporting him, it will tip him to take action. Environmentalists and indigenous groups have been lobbying for twenty years to get this area protected. Let’s give it a final Avaaz push. Click to sign the petition, and Avaaz will deliver it directly to the Prime Minister’s office:

https://secure.avaaz.org/en/sierra_del_divisor_loc/?bIiqNab&v=66505

Sierra del Divisor is a unique part of the Amazon. It’s home to many indigenous Peruvian communities, and one of the most biodiverse places on the planet. But time is running out. Illegal loggers, gold miners and coca growers are destroying it, and now there are rumours of road building and oil and gas operations that could threaten the area.
Some might say that making Sierra del Divisor a National Park will not be enough to stop illegal extraction. But National Park designation is like turning on a tap, and once you turn the handle, it gushes out manpower, financial resources, stricter regulations and inspections.
We're almost there: since 2006, there has been a joint effort of conservationists, indigenous communities, government officials and the private sector all pushing to make Sierra del Divisor a protected area. Now it is finally ready to go -- all it needs is one signature. Click to sign the petition -- let’s show Cateriano the whole world cares, and wants him to be a hero:

https://secure.avaaz.org/en/sierra_del_divisor_loc/?bIiqNab&v=66505

The Avaaz community has stood up time and again to protect our forests - last year tens of thousands of us donated to buy and protect an area where many of the world’s remaining orangutans live. Now let’s persuade Peru’s Prime Minister to be the leader the world is crying out for and save this majestic land.

With hope and determination,

Riccardo, Maria Paz, Oscar, Alice, Luis, Caro and the whole Avaaz team.
