Dear hans, Your help is still desperately needed to support relief efforts in the wake of last week's tragic earthquake in Yushu, eastern Tibet. I hope you will consider supporting ICT's efforts on behalf of the thousands affected by this tragedy. If you can, please: 1. Support ICT's Yushu earthquake relief efforts today with a contribution, large or small. 2. Forward this email to a friend and encourage them to support this effort. The need is great and growing. Figures released earlier today listed 1,944 dead, 216 missing, and more than 12,100 injured. ICT is working closely with organizational partners who were in Tibet before last week's earthquake occurred. Because they have been working with Tibetans in this area for many years, we know they have the connections in place to do the most good as quickly as possible. And we know they will be there long after the disaster teams leave. This means that your support now will also provide on-going help during the long reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts that will follow. Our work of course is far from over - it is only just beginning. ICT will continue to support this effort for the long term, helping as we can to fund and also direct other aid sources for immediate relief efforts and for what is likely to be a protracted period of rebuilding. Can you help us make the most impact for Tibetans in Yushu by making a contribution today? Please encourage friends and family to support our work for Tibetans in Yushu by forwarding this email to them or directing them to our website, www.savetibet.org, so they can learn more about the situation and perhaps choose to help our Tibetan friends as well. ICT has just released an update on the situation which you can find on our home page, and our research and monitoring team will continue to keep you informed of the situation. With thanks for your steadfast support, Mary Beth Markey Vice President of International Advocacy |
