It is April 9 today and it still is no spring. Nature refuses to stay in wintermood, other then we, human beings, and the daffodils will soon be flowereing.

The bushes at my 'every week a picture' position are still flowering. Soon the pink blossoms will dissapear and the yellow will take over, followed by the green.

and, no matter what happens, there will be a lot of water, as well in the pond ans in the nature.

What a lovely place to relx.

The feather

I am a strong believer in that there is more between heaven and earth then that we can explain.

And because I do believe it, I do see the signs as well. Is it just me following my thughts, or is it realy a sign? No one shall be able to explain it, but it happens.

In the years I do believe in signs. It happens now and then that I ask signs, for making steps further. And at the moments I do ask, when I need help, there comes an answer. Not always in the way that I expect it, or want it, but there are signs, for me who sees them.

Today, 2 years ago that my mother did pass away (what was that a lovely sunny day!), and yesterday, we did return from our trip to Gent. I was thinking, sadly I cannot tell mom anymore about it, she sure should have loved the story about the St Baaf, because that is not only one of the most dominant places in Gent, but as well in haarlem, the city that she founded her family in.

When coming home, right before our door, there was that feather. Where it came from? No idea, it was clean and proper, like new.  I did pick it up, and took it upstairs. And this moring, when I woke up, I dd realize where it was about.

How many times, in the pat, at the moments that I did ask for help, I did find a feather as well?  Many times and it is always amazing again that it happens. It is the answer, it is the symbol to go on, and that my decission is good. i am convinced of it.
So, I am grateful again for this sign. Thanks mom, I am glad that I do something good, in your eyes. I knw that I  am not always acting the way you should like, but I definitely do my best to be good, for me and for who is around me.

Take care, and give Freddie a hug from me. The candle burns, the feather lays in front of it,. And I feel happy. I realy do

I love you mama

The sadness of Belgium

We are back from our wonderful trip to Gent, Belgium. What a magnificent place that is, so full of history, immense buildings, intresting architecture, and, not less important, the places to eat, drink and enjoy the good things of life.

If you ever want or need to taste how friench fries realy need to taste, buy yourself a Friet in Belgium.  Then you know what it should be, and also how it might be served :)

There is so much to tell about the 3 days we were in Belgium, so close snapped between the Nehterlands (I love the 'frlemmish' tongue!) and Germany, but a world of difference.

We (of course) did travel with the train, and when we came ant the main stations in Belgium, we were confrontated with the things that we know from the news. Belgium has problems, financial and more.  Hoemeless people everywhere, and the railway stations cold and unfriendly.  So much difference if you see the wealth, the shops and all at the stations in Germany and the Netherlands.
Also the houses, when you travel this way you see how miserable many of them are.

Here a picture of the beautiful architecture in the railway station of Gent/St Pieters.  The exception in my storry ;)

Understand me correctly, we had a wonderful trip, and Gent is a rich city. The (history) is well preserved and maintained, it is a LOVELY city, what can easily compare with Copenhagen, Cologne, Utrechtt, also the middle large cities in Europe.   But it is clear why there is so many written and told about the 'tears of belgium'. It is a country that might be a good example for the rich countries. We should be careful with what we have.
Gent, the city that was once Europe's most important trade center, in the 13th century.
The city with the St Baaf Kathedraal, in what the famoes painting from the brothers Van Eyk  resides.

The historical Belfort, the place from what out the wars and 'issuues' with other cities were settled. And what has a wonderful 'clock tower'.  Small stairs as well and a great view ...

The famous clock/c hurch bell St Roeland, that did announce the uproars in the citty

and on top (yes we were there... we are heroes ;).. the dragon, that should scare the opponents enough ...

Gent.. a city that is worth a visit very much!

Fool or wise

"A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man
knows himself to be a fool."

~ William Shakespeare

--------------------

I never shall  label me as a wise man. Therefore I make too many mistakes and do too many silly things.
But, considering being silly and stupid is part of me, I can live with it better and better and even use it in my advantage.
So, if you ask me, what my strong sides are, don't be surprised when I reply with  my chaos and my sillyness.
Of course is all spiced up with a lot of humor and sarcasm.  But you know the face behind the smile of the clown, right?

It is so easy to judge oters. It is so easy to punish yourself with cutting off the lines with omeone, without that you took the effort to find out the reason why the other did behave like that.
It is much easier to accept the other for who (s)he is and what (s)he is doing, then being frustrated about what you expected them to do.

The suitcase is ready to be packed. And I look very much forward to that small tirp.

Brugge or Gent?

Hurray, a week off together and plans are made to visit our neighbour counttry Belgium this time.

Typical me, I have had in my mind for a couple of days that we should go to Brugge. A beautiful city, and I thought I was there a long(er) time ago already.
Today I did check the connections and hotels, and concluded. that I did not mean Brugge.  We were there, on that same trip ...

....  but the city I have been mixing up with is Gent!  Gent with the Lei, the small streets and the huge Cathedral, the paintings of Van Eyk

Tomorrow we will go and book. For our train travel it doesnt matter.  But I think it is pretty handy to end in the proper city after all.

With me that MIGHT be a uprise, after all.  Hmm, I look forward to it. The weather can be like today, sunny, bright, the temperature, well, we dont have too high expectations from that. This will be contineued later this week, check it out yeah

Do everything for peace

Wow.  And how true it is. We are the system, we cant blame the system for what happens, we are part of it ourselves.  If we want war it is because we allow that someone sents us somewhere. if I dont want to kill, i just dont, no matter what another tells me, evenn when it brings me to jail for it. It is in our own hands and that is for peace and many other things.

I was discussing yesterday about the dailight saving, what for silly reason here is called 'summer time/ sommerzeit/zomertijd'
One hour less past night, in fact the hour is stolen. And it is that it is a long Easter weekend, but it still is f.ckung me up, it is 230 pm already, they stole an hour. And if the world demands us to go an hour earlier to do our things, to be at the job and whatever, it is jut working because we do accept it. o yes, we do complain, moan and cry about that hour, but no one is changing it.
The system fucks us up. So, walk at the normal time in your office, and if your boss tells you that you fuck him up with thtat hour, correct him. It is not we that did fuck up that hour. It is the system that is fucking up us with it.

Sometimes i'd wish I could see the world through John lennon's glasses indeed.

Laughter

"Laughter is the tonic, the relief, the surcease for pain."

~ Charlie Chaplin
