OV-chipsysteem overbelast door studenten

De ophaalpunten van de OV-chipkaart kunnen de studentendrukte met moeite aan. Toevallig is de site ov-chipkaart.nl ook al ruim een dag overbelast.

Sinds maandagochtend vroeg is de ov-chipkaart.nl niet bereikbaar. Op de site kunnen onder meer kaarten aanvraagd worden, en kan je persoonlijke saldoinformatie opvragen. Dinsdagmiddag was de site weer online.

Diverse Twitteraars maken melding van de storing, en Webwereld werd ook getipt door lezers. Een woordvoerder van Trans Link Systems, vertelt dat maandagavond de eerste meldingen binnenkwamen over de storing. Volgens het bedrijf is de storing niet landelijk. Op diverse computers zou de site continu bereikbaar zou geweest.

Trans Link Systems ontkent dat er een verband is met de toeloop van vele duizenden studenten, die sinds deze week hun OV-chip-studentenkaart op kunnen halen. Voor studenten is er een aparte informatiesite gemaakt, die wel online is.

Klantenservice niet bereikbaar

Dinsdag rond het middaguur hebben inmiddels 85.000 studenten hun nieuwe kaart opgehaald, vertelt een woordvoerder van Studenten OV-chipkaart. De ophaalpunten, niet te verwarren met de oplaadpunten, konden de drukte maandag een tijdlang niet aan. Bellen naar de OV-chipkaart klantenservice is ook overbelast, de verbinding wordt automatisch verbroken.

Volgens de woordvoerder van Studenten OV-chipkaart trekt de studentendrukte een zware wissel op het systeem. Elke registratie van een student moet doorgegeven worden naar de IB Groep, en door de massale toeloop veroorzaakt dit "instabliteit" in het systeem, aldus de woordvoerder. Alle studenten moeten hun OV-chipkaart uiterlijk 31 januari ophalen.

the to do list

Hello everybody

You know what it is, right, the 'to do list'. We all have one, one has one more strct, but we all have things that should be done.. And my list of 'should be done' is always shorter than the list of
'should be done and is not done -yet-'.
That last list grows faster than the to do list.

But today I did do my best, the to do list got smaller, paper work, household, some official stuff, it is all done and even the 2nd list did loose one or two items.

So, time for some relaxation, a smile and a wonderful song under the toon of the day.

Howdy lovely lot!

and the first monday of the year is far gone, and I feel good, have done some very constructive moves, official stuff of what I didnt know that it could work. The result of a good talk with a friend yesterday, it is so good to realize now and than how valueable friendship is. It is not in the amount of words, but it is in what you mean for eachother

A Force from Empty Space: The Casimir Effect

Explanation: This tiny ball provides evidence that the universe will expand forever. Measuring slightly over one tenth of a millimeter, the ball moves toward a smooth plate in response to energy fluctuations in the vacuum of empty space. The attraction is known as the Casimir Effect, named for its discoverer, who, 50 years ago, was trying to understand why fluids like mayonnaise move so slowly. Today, evidence is accumulating that most of the energy density in the universe is in an unknown form dubbed dark energy. The form and genesis of dark energy is almost completely unknown, but postulated as related to vacuum fluctuations similar to the Casimir Effect but generated somehow by space itself. This vast and mysterious dark energy appears to gravitationally repel all matter and hence will likely cause the universe to expand forever. Understanding vacuum fluctuations is on the forefront of research not only to better understand our universe but also for stopping micro-mechanical machine parts from sticking together.

Explanation: The International Year of Astronomy 2009 ended with a Blue Moon and a partial lunar eclipse, as the second Full Moon of December grazed the Earth's shadow on December 31st. The New Year's Eve Blue Moon eclipse was visible throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and parts of Alaska, captured in this two exposure composite in cloudy skies over Saint Bonnet de Mure, France. Playing across the Moon's southern reaches, the edge of Earth's umbra, or dark central shadow, appears on the right side along with the prominent ray crater Tycho. At maximum eclipse, the umbra covered only about 8 percent of the diameter of the lunar disk.

Explanation: This bright Full Moon was captured on December 2nd, shining above a church overlooking the River Po, in Turin, Italy, It was the first Full Moon in December. Shining on celebrations of New Year's Eve, last night's Full Moon was the second Full Moon of December and so fits the modern definition of a Blue Moon - the second Full Moon in a month. Because the lunar cycle, Full Moon to Full Moon, spans 29.5 days, Blue Moons tend to occur in some month about every 2.5 years. Shining in the glare just above and right of December's first Full Moon is the Pleiades star cluster.
